Raid help, new to building

Here's where I'm at, got my new build together and I have 2 H.D.D.s both W.D. one is a 500g caviar black sata 6gb (although my mobo only accepts up to sata 3gb) the other is a 1Tb unknown sata speed. I do believe they are both 7500RPM

My idea was to to put my OS on and games that have lots of load screens i.e. oblivion on the caviar black since I know its suppose to be faster. and then put my other games, documents and music on the 1TB.

can this be done? Or should I just do a Raid 0? help out please any thoughts or advice or links to help me out will be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is possible to do, you will just need to change certain default settings in Windows so that it saves the data on the 1 TB but it is completely possible.
Just hook up both drives and install the OS on the 500 GB.
Make a partition with the second drive and voila.
