Hi i have just bought built a dream rig and i have a quick question i have x2 western digital raptor's 74 gb setup in a raid 0 array but i think that you need 3 hd's to do this because in windows it has named my storage drive c drive and will not boot without it even though i haven't specified it as a raid drive in the bios plz help?:(

RAID 0 only requires 2 drives to work.

When you go to install Windows, does it recognize each drive? It should recognize your RAID array as one 74GB drive and your storage drive as whatever size it is.

you mean 148gb drive

No, I mean 74GB. You must have RAID-0 (striped) confused with a spanned volume.

If this were a spanned volume then it would look like one drive letter at 148GB.

why would it say 74GB?

with RAID 0 you dont lose any storage space it just recognizes your two drives as one so it should say 148GB
