Alright I'm not saying the ATI cards are the fastest in the world right now but it just seems people don't like them here.

Yeah, most people here are total Nvidia fans, who don't look at the facts and just post in favor of the Nvidia no matter what. The only ATI card this generation that really, really sucked is the X800 Pro. The others, while lacking Shader Model 3, are actually fantastic cards that match the Nvidia ones in framerate and beat them in image quality.

Honestly, I don't see SM3 as being as important as I once did, because with the new Splinter Cell Chaos Theory patch, SM2 does the exact same thing that only SM3 did previously.

SM3 will be different. You just havent seen what it can do because the latest games dont use it fully. Same as PCI-E.

and games still don't even fully utilize AGP 8X and PCIe is just an extreme measure for graphics card manufacturers and chipset makers to get people to buy new boards etc etc etc
