Default Quick Question! Best Graphics card for under 80?

Hey Everyone,

I haven't been around for a while, but I really need just a quick answer if possible, I'm doing a build and have been assigned a simple but powerful graphics card, at least, decent enough for some good gaming. The budget is really 80.

Preferably be able to play Call of Duty 4 at a decent level @1280x1024.

Thanks so much,

Charlie -

My first thought was 'you aren't going to manage that'

I think 120 odd, you could get a very up-to-date card, such as the 3850/3870 series.

Otherwise, it looks like you will have to go 8600 series or so, but don't expect full COD4 settings on 1280 res! the 7900 series seems to be more expensive in the UK, unfortunately.

Afraid my Ati knowledge is severely limited, which is where you generally look if you are on a tight budget.

This is your only option reall in that budget: PowerColor ATI Radeon X1950 Pro AC2 SILENT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

However, I highly recommend stretching your budget for this card....it really is a million times better in every way.
OcUK ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

That budget lets you buy this for only a tiny bit more (85 pounds.): Newegg.com - VisionTek 900203 Radeon HD 3850 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail

But try and get the one gurusan suggested.
