quick question

Probably been posted before, but I am wondering if I will need to reformat if I install a new CPU and mem.

(keeping mobo..etc)


Would I need to reformat for it to pick up the dual core, instead of single core like I have now.. (going from a 3700+ to a 4800 x2. and im getting some corsair xms[2x1gb])

No I don't think so, but not a bad idea to reinstall a fresh copy of windows. But usually no.....usually you have to reinstall windows when changing mobo and HD.

You can try a repair install or you can choose "upgrade". If that doesn't work, reinstall.
