Default Quick MOBO question.

I know this may seem odd, but this is my first build, so go easy on me :P

Now, I just mounted my MOBO(ASUS P5W DH Deluxe), and started connecting things up. I noticed a clear plastic sticky pad on both the North and South Bridges. They look a little peeled at one of the corners and they have air bubbles on the top of the Bridge. Now would I need to remove these? And what were they doing there in the first place?

You mean like a Thermal Pad? Arn't those only neccesary when in between the Heatsink and the object in question? These sticky pads are on top of the copper box on both the North and South Bridges.
