Getting the soudn to work on my Ds3r was a menacing task. I read this one tutorial. You go to the device manager, search for the Microsoft Uaa driver, disable it, and uninstall it, reinstall your machine. And you SHOULD be fine. Use this at your own risk. I won't be held responsible for anything that goes wrong.
BTW, this worked for me.

I read something about that. Luckily i did a clean install when i put my ds3r in. Installed windows > ran mobo cd > downloaded video card drivers and installed > resumed gaming

i loaded the audio drivers, still no luck, any ideas?

Didn't even need to do that. I just uninstalled the non-working driver, installed this:

GIGABYTE - Support - Motherboard - Driver Download

from the giga-byte website, restarted and everything was dandy, hope this helps anyone else that may be in the same situation.
