I ordered this last night to replace the quickly aging AMD X2 6000+. Along with my nForce 570 chipset.

Now. I have this 9800GTX and an available step-up with a week remaining. I don't want the GTX 280, I don't plan on this video card being used with my Nehalem system when that is built in 8-10 months. The GTX 260 or the 4850 can play any game that I want to play, so I need to pick from those two.

My 9800GTX has a step-up value of $300. I can:

a) Step-up to a GTX 260 for shipping costs.
b) Step-up to a GTX 280 for $150 and then sell it on ebay as New in Box and get the 4850

What I want to do is step up to the GTX 280 and then sell it.........I will have an extra $100 or so and that can be put towards maybe 4850s in Xfire? I am looking for best bang for my buck here.

How much are you trying to sell it for on Ebay? You could probably get $425-430, but with the GTX 280 prices dropping as fast as they are, you may not get as much. Still, spending $150 and making atleast $250 profit from Ebay that would set you up for a 4850 and have close to $75 or so to go towards another one.

With that motherboard, I would use it to it's peak and take advantage of the 4850's in Crossfire.
