Question on purchasing

Hi i myself have never bought a computer before and im looking to spend roughly 500-700ish on a gaming computer, and i have been looking on websites like newegg but many of the machines on there get reviews saying the computers didnt even work or arrived missing parts or arrived broken or wet. Are these just rare cases? or should i expect to buy a computer and it not work and i have to send it back 2 or 3 times.

You should have no issues if ou buy a computer, I'd not put too much weight in newegg reviews,
