Question about SSDs and HDDs

I hear a lot of people are using SSDs as boot drives and HDDs as storage for games and files. They also say they get great boot times in their games. How is this so? If the game is installed on the HDD wouldn't it load from the HDD? How could it load on the SSD if wasn't installed on it.

They install the OS, games, and programs they want to start/load quickly on the SSD not the HDD.

If you read the thread I have stickied I go a bit into detail about this. 95% of games on the market right now don't take advantage of an SSDs speed anyways so that's why most people do it this way. Another factor is the constant accessing of the drive from Windows and programs is done on the SSD so load times of games on a HDD will be a bit quicker compared to if everything was all on one standard HDD.
