Default Question about FSB speeds.

If I get a motherboard that is rated for a 800/1066 FSB speed does that mean 1066 is the fastest the board can go? For example if I overclocked it to go faster would it crash or something. I need to buy a new core 2 motherboard and saw a nice one but it doesn't say it supports 1333 FSB. Should I get a different board if I want to get that speed?

No that si not what it means...it means that the board will support CPU's that have a NATIVE FSB of 800/1066 meaning thats what the chips will be clocked at when you first insert it and start up the board. However even the boards that get FSB over 2000 after overclocking say "800/1066" FSB support. Don't worry about that too much really as the same is with memory support either.

What board are you looking to get?

They are the 965P boards which are not worth getting anymore since the P35 boards are better. The 650i and 680i are different chipsets and for SLI

Yeh it really is the best board at momeny cause of price, overclock-ablity, and future compatability.
