I'm replacing my failed e8400.
Which should I go with as far as overall performance at high over clocks, my uses are mostly gaming so the high clocks are preferable but newer games like GTAIV demand more than the 2 cores my e8400 had to offer anyways.
From what I've seen the 9400 overclocks much better but the 9450 has double the cache. Will this cache difference matter when the 9400 can reach 4 GHz compared to the 9450 reaching a average of 3.6 GHz ( based on what I've seen and read).
Using a Gigabyte UD3P-E45, I'm running a water cooled system with a EK Supreme HF Water block so motherboard and cooling aren't an issue.
