you you are unhappy with the temps spray it with a co2 fire extinguisher.... (i am in no way responsible for anything that happens if you do this)

Nah, 48C is entirely too hot for a stock clocked q6600, mine is overclocked to 3.6ghz and only idles around 35. My guess is that the heatsink needs to be remounted.
