right.
i am looking to build a fairly cheap gaming pc and want
2 know is it better to get a case combo or psu and case seperately
(which would cost around £40 ($70) more)
does it make that much of a difference?

cheers:D

It all depends on the brand name and quality of parts. For example my Antec Sonata II came with a special SmartPower2.0S Powersupply by Antec. Antec makes solid powersupplies so I saved myself a bit of money not having to buy another PSU.

If you're going to get a cheap case, then invest in a good power supply from a maker like Antec, OCZ, or Fortron FSP.

But if you're getting a cheap case that comes with a no-name or cheap powersupply. Then ditch it, its not good for you and will kill your components.

It all depends on what components you plan on using and how much power you need vs. how much power the psu can give you. If you get a combo that comes w/a 500 watt psu and you only need 250 watts, even if the psu is only 50% efficient, it will do the job for your setup. But if you need 300 watts and you have that same psu, you would obviously need to upgrade it.
