Default Processor Steppings

Hey all, new member here, Im gald to join the boards

I have been doing alot of research on processor steppings, trying to find out an exact defination. It seems to be harder than i thought to find the information.

What I have been able to gather so far about processor steppings is that it is the type of silicon wafer the chip is made out of, and that it also influences the voltage of the processor. I haven't been able to find out much else. Can someone give me some information on it. Also, I am curious to know how processor steppings affect the chip's performance aswell as the rest of the machine and overclocking.

THANKS!

eh... maybe this is what you're looking for. 003 posted this over in the overclocking forum a few days ago.
