My gaming machine has an AMD Athlon FX-57 San Diego 2.8 a friend is building a computer and is looking at using a AMD Athlon 64x2 4600 2.4 We where looking here

and his rates alot better than mine but mine is still 100$ more at new egg. So can somebody tell me the why the price difference, and how a single core compares to a duel core for gaming only. Thanks!!
