Processor comparison

Which of thse two should i pick. Ill be running it on a dli ut ultra d mobo.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor

or

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor

and can some one explain to me what Cache is and how much of a difference it can pose?

well the 4400+ is definitely better if price is a non-issue. if you would be interested in overclocking you might also want to look into an opteron 165/170. the 4400+ is also actually clocked at 2.2ghz not 2.0ghz.

cache is a form of high speed memory that is on the processor itself. it does make a difference but it is not vital for performance

well hows bout you get a new mobo, and a conroe, im sure ya can for the price of a 4400?
