Default Processor

What will be the best to represent each class? I don't mean which one is the best/fastest in each class. Like Q6600 is a good Core 2 Quad CPU.

Pentium Extreme Edition
965/955

Pentium Dual Core
E2200/E2180/E2160/E2140

Pentium D
960/950/945/940/935/930/925/920/915

Pentium 4 HT
661/651/641/631

-----------------------------------

Celeron D
365/360/356/352/347

Celeron
440/430/420

Celeron Dual Core
E1400/E1200

-------------------

Core 2 Quad
Q9550/Q9450/Q6700/Q6600

Core 2 Extreme
QX9770/QX9650/QX6850/QX6800/QX6700/X6800

Core 2 Duo
E6850/E6750/E6700/E6600/E6550/E6540/E6420/E6400/E6320/E6300/E4700/E4600/E4500/E4400/E4300
E8500/E8400/E8300/E8200/E8190/E7200

E8500/E8400/E8300/E8200//E7200
I start by eliminating these categories: Pentium 4, Celeron and Celly D, Pentium D, and Pentium D EE

I bolded the decent ones that actually get recommended here

Nice title. Striaght to the point.

All of vern's choices are perfect. You could possibly add the E2160 and E8500 if you can get a good sale price on them. The rest are old or overpriced or both .

there is already a computer hardware suggestion sticky

also it should probably include the Xeon e3110 with a note that it is an e8400 rebadged and would be a good substitute if for some reason it is cheaper or more readily available

Default Re: Processor

i dont care if it is overpriced or something i just want to test at least 1 cpu from each class and resell them like buy it in ebay after testing sell it i am also doing it with GPU but GPU are easier for me to pick since their is a GPU Ranking

all these CPU are 65nm or lower and LGA 775 socket so i dont need to go buy multiple mobo probably 2 one for Crossfire and SLI
