I think I'm going to be able to talk him into a custom build now, but he needs it to be more around 850-900. So I think what I'll do is have him get a cheaper case, and a 6850 instead of a 6870. To save a little more could he go with a different psu too? Thanks

edit: Also, I know he'll never crossfire or sli, so could we save some money going with a cheaper mobo that only has one pci-e slot?>

It's official, we're building. I just wanted to be sure though that this mobo will fit in this case, I was a little confused with the dimensions.

Newegg.com - BIOSTAR TA970XE AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

and

Newegg.com - Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, comes with Three Fans-1x Front Blue LED 120mm Fan, 1x Top 140mm Fan, 1x Rear 120mm Fan, option Fans-2x Side 120mm Fan

Thanks

It will work, both are atx.

Biggest issue is the aftermarket heatsinks being to tall.
