Power supply compatability

Can anyone tell me what the different versions of ATX are required for? I see a lot of the newer MBs require v2.0 but what are the newer versions like 2.2 used for? Whats the difference between 2.0 and 2.2?

i believe v2.0 is the one with the 24 pin power connector and im not sure about v2.2 dual pcie16?

just get 1 that can be used for both....i just got a nice enermax that is a 20/24 pin use whichever u have and it can be used for dual pcie16

I'm thinking the 2.2 is the version with out the -5V rail..... Not sure exactly....
