Default Power Supply

Now I'm not much of a tech genius and I need some help in selecting a power supply for the computer I'm building. I'm planning on hooking up 4 or 5 fans and one or two cathodes along with the processor, GPU, motherboard, 2 optical drives and such. are any of these good power supplies, or am I just being cheap and need to go higher? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...SubCategory=58

i think u are being cheap and the PSU is the one you should NEVER be cheap with. i would suggest the Antec TruePowerII but it seems to be out of ur price range, unless if ur willing to pay that much.

I'll raise my price range if it means not having my PSU tank and take out part of or all of my components.

I think about $60 is in my price range. How's this one?

well heres the deal with PSU's

you never want to go cheap on them because if you go cheap on the psu your system wont run to its full potential, or it might not run at all

quality brands are Antec, Enermax, PC power & cooling(real expensive), and FSP group.

a PSU is a real investment and you need to be smart about what you get. if you could give me full system specs i can give you specific models to look at but you might want to go for about 100-200 dollar range.

you want a 550+ wattage for your system from what i can see

again i cant stress more what kind of problems happen just becuase of a bad psu.

you could probably get away with an enermax 550
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103437

thats probably your best bet for the price
if you wanna upgrade it to something a little better then go with another enermax
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817194005

this 2nd one has a much higher efficiency % but the first one has a good one too
just depends on your money. if you dont wanna pay 110 for the first one i will look for a more budget one for you

No that's OK. Actually I think I'm gonna put htis computer thing on hold for now. I'm not a crazy hardcore gamer, and I want to get an AR-15 .223 rifle. I like to shoot a **** of lot and an AR-15 is light, acurate, and will outlast the computer by many years. Thanks to everyone for all of the help. I'll be back eventually. I'll end up making a computer some day.

Well, if I've found out one thing about myslef, it's that I make very quick decisions and I change them even quicker. So by the time I get the money for the AR-15 I'll want the computer again. Or I'll want something else. The AR-15 seems like the best idea now. I shot one today, and its one of the best rifle's I've ever shot. Holy ****!ng sh!t what's wrong with me!? The computer might come but the AR-15 is also a good possibility. **** my stupid genius mind and its switching obsessions within a span of hours! I'm just gonna wait to get enough money for the computer. If I still want the rifle I'll get that, but if not I'll get the computer. Probably gonna have to repick all of the parts because of advancement or something. I swear, I'm gonna stab my brain.
