Hey all....I am in need of some Power supply advice.
I am excited with putting together my new system.....here is a run down:
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego
Asus GeForce 6800GT PCI Express
Creative Labs 2 ZS GamerLE
Plextor CD/DVD R-RW ect...
Corsair 1 g DDR
160 gb Sata

I need a decent case...no fancy lights
and the Correct power source....500w, v.20 compliant? etc. I called Asus and they daid 500-550W is plenty. A friend said 600W....I was like ..wow...600W...
So, I am back here to get advice form those that have experience. Most my parts are on the way.....except case and power source.

Thanks for the input

Antec Truepower TrueControl 2.0 550w PSU - $89 newegg.com

As far as cases go... It's really personal preference.

Cooler Master
Antec
Thermal Take
Lian Li

I'd recommend those.

I'd say a 550W should be good - a little less might do, but just to be safe, 550.

Go with Antec, Enermax, Fortron

This is the case I have. It's black, plain, strong, and cheap. Nothing fancy, just an all around great case.

Have you already ordered your parts because a X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card and a eVGA 7800 GT would be great additions.

If you can't afford these extra upgrades, I suggest buying the $360 7800 GT from MonarchComputer and get a free eVGA SLI mobo.
