Power comsumption on C2D's?

Hello All, I have been a big AMD fan for a while and am currently using an X2 3800. I love how cool, quiet, and how little power they use. A friend of mine is looking at the E6600 C2D. From my old experiences with P4's at least the Prescott, they ran very hot and used a lot of power. How are the new C2D's in comparison to AMD X2's?
Would the E6600 be much faster then the X2 3800?

Also, does anyone have a link for operating temperatures for C2D's as I have not been able to find one. Thanks for any help

the E6600 would blow away an X2 3800 unfortunately.....well stock that is, hehe.

well AMD's quad core was a complete flop, ive never heard anyone discussing them and i dont think they even sell them in my country lol
