Well just in case he didnt have it on hand for the new build and wanted to hang on to his old parts.
You can make a really awesome backup PC with the Phenom II still, sure no gaming but it would be nice to build a hand me down PC with.

Idk man, my Phenom 2 940 still kicks it with good GPUs. Especially with 4k.

Yeah bet it can kick *** still but if they are transferring thier GPU over they will need another one for the Phenom parts if they wished to make it another gaming rig on the side.

I plan to give this rig minus the SSD and HDDs and graphics card to a collegue I work with. MY current mobo has decent integrated graphics and he's not a gamer. HE also has a radeon 6870 he wants to transfer. He does like to crunch numbers and stuff and currently he has an old core2 quad with 4gb ram
