Default Possible upgrade or new build?

My current built, which you helped me create in 2009, is listed bellow. It has worked great over the years however I am finally noticing that its performance cant keep up with newer games.

Are there possible upgrades that I can do to this system to extend its performance perhaps by a year? Or are most components so outdated that it is not worth it and its better to build a new system.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Possible upgrade or new build?

You could slap a GTX 660 in there. Hothardware did just this with your exact CPU and performance was increased over 30% from a GTX260.

Another thing you could do is get an SSD which would further improve productive performance on your PC. It will increase the snappiness and responsiveness of your whole computer.
All depends on your budget really.
