First off, this forum is great for information on building PCs. You guys have done a wonderful job.

After reading through the two stickied guides regarding building, I poked around on Newegg and "built" a system. I've been wanting to build a system for a while now, but haven't had the money. Building them seems WAY cheaper though (saving at least 50%, if not more) than buying from companies that build them for you, so for my next desktop I'm definitely going to build rather than buy.

Here's my setup. The total cost is $1575, which is pretty good, considering the specs I think (though I don't have a monitor, and that'd be pretty costly since I want to get an LCD...). I want to have a nice gaming PC, and don't care about overclocking, so keep that in mind if you're going to give recommendations as to hardware. Thanks!

k first off, dont waste your money on a crossfire board if your using nvidia, and dont waste ur money on crossfire or sli in general. a good board would be.....DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D or MSI k8N Platinum, pick one. going on, for a hard drive your gonna want SATA, IDE has bulky wires, is slower, and is OLD news. as for powersupply u should switch to a Antec TruePOwerII 550Watt, u are not going to need 600Watts for a long time. even if ur gonna be Sling a 7900GTX! you still wont need it, the Antec would suffice and will save u money. and as for optical drive, i'd go with a NEC 3550A. there you go from all that you should save about.......$50? lol, its not that much but its worth it to add for a good lcd. and any of these lcd s would be fine....
