please suggest 700-800$ build. Non gaming, no overclocking

As title states I was asked to build a computer for a friend of mine. He doesn't do any gaming at all. Documents, music, some videos and internet that is all that he does. He doesn't need a monitor.

$578.92, less 30 bucks after MIRs. This will give him an awesome CPU (I have it, it rocks.), a great motherboard with adequate onbaord video for everyday stuff, as well as light gaming if he ever chose to, and it would give him upgradeability for the future.

4gb of really good RAM, only 5 bucks more than average RAM. A 640gb "Green" drive, it cuts back on electricity usage. The 400w will more than serve his needs for now, a great brand and it has a promo code discount to enter when you purchase. DVD burner, and a decent looking case. The case is something you can change up. Yes it comes with a 500w PSU, but it sucks. He can use it as a backup, or you can use it in something, either way, but it has free shipping on it.

And of course, Vista HP64 SP1.

While that mobo has HDMI on it, I would add in a discreet GFX card for it, as well as taking the load off of the CPU.

If he gets the Radeon Hd 4350 with other parts that hikaricloud suggested would the 400w power supply be sufficient?

Also, I am not that familiar with AMDs. The processor that you suggested which intel CPU does it compare to?

well if he really isnt gonna use it for any serious usage you might be better off going with a grey box computer like a dell or hp if it is cheaper they get serious volume discounts on hardware and software and are often cheaper than a low end custom built

No, because then he would get lower quality parts for his money. Hikaricloud has a great build that would be better than any prebuilt. Plus he won't get all that crapware that comes with prebuilts.

i understand that but if budget is really a big deal im just saying you can get a prebuilt often a lil cheaper than a custom even if the parts are a lil lower quality you get everything the OS, all the parts and some form of warranty

He has dell right now and doesn't want another one. Also, I think that 700-800$ budget for a non gaming rig is pretty good.
