Also make sure your PSU, has enough amps for that card. You didn't mention the brand and model.

how can i find how much amps it has or what brand it is? do i have to open it up?

Also the ATi X1950 XT 512MB specs requre 450watts.. 400 is ok right?

As long as it has 30 amps on it's 12V rails, it's ok. If you tell us the model and brand, we can look up more info, like the amps on it.

400w is ok...but I just want to make sure, it has enough amps to handle that card. Maybe you should upgrade the power supply.

my current graphic card is an ati 9800pro and i dont have any problems with it... does this mean anything to you? is my power supply ok?
