You will have to stretch your budget by around $100 or $150 depending on what video card/case you want but this is a good, cheap, solid build which should last for quite a long time.

As for the case you may want to look for a cheaper option or if you still want that case you have to spend over your budget.

And... do you need an optical drive? or any peripherals such as mouse or keyboard? Also remember this is without a monitor and without one you cannot do anything with your computer unless you already have one.

From Tigerdirect...

Motherboard: (one of the cheapest Socket 1366 motherboard I could find) Biostar TPower X58A Motherboard - $219.99 Biostar TPower X58A Motherboard - Intel X58, LGA 1366, ATX, Audio, PCI Express 2.0, CrossFire Ready, SLI Ready, Dual Gigabit LAN at TigerDirect.com

Core i7 920 - $279.99http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=4240166&sku=CP1-I7-920

Case - $99.99 NZXT Lexa Blackline ATX Mid-Tower Case at TigerDirect.com

CPU Cooler - $69.96http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=4348099&sku=Z20-1111

*OCZ Intel Core i7 Tri Channel memory 1333MHz 3072MB (1024MB x 3) - $47.99 OCZ Intel Core i7 Tri Channel 3GB PC10666 DDR3 Memory - 1333MHz, 3072MB (3 x 1024MB) at TigerDirect.com

*Nvidia GeForce GTX 275 - $199.99 PNY GeForce GTX 275 Video Card - 896MB, PCI Express 2.0 x16, SLI Ready, (dual Link) Dual DVI, HDMI (w/ Adapter) at TigerDirect.com

OR

*Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ - $134.99 (IMO I would spend another $65 to get that GTX 275 as it is way better) XFX GeForce 9800 GTX+ Video Card - 512MB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, Dual DVI, FREE World of Warcraft Game Coupon at TigerDirect.com

*Hard drive: (might want to get 750GB as this has 32MB cache) Seagate Barracuda 750GB - $69.99 Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 Hard Drive - 750GB, 7200rpm, 32MB, Serial ATA-300 at TigerDirect.com

*Corsair TX650W 650 watts power supply (would recommend this one as you probably won't need 850 watts of power) - $84.99 Corsair TX650W 650-Watt Power Supply - ATX, 120mm Fan, SLI-Ready, SATA-Ready, 80Plus at TigerDirect.com

All for $1072.89 or $1007.89 if you get 9800 GTX+

Hope this helps

I think there a few i7 motherboards by Intel but they're more expensive than better boards.

The one on his list is a Biostar. which is a good brand.

Intel boards are generally not good for the i7. The one you chose is really bad as it has only 4 ram slots.

Get a:
1) asus
2) evga
3) gigabyte
4) biostar
...
1010) Intel

Agreed...

Also the x58 chipset is by Intel anyways, so technically it really is an Intel board on a guts basis really.

for an i7 you want 6gb 3x2gb as it runs in triple channel mode.
