Overclocked it will beat a core 920 at stock in some benchmarks (really just gaming and a couple of apps). otherwise it's not really that much difference, Only really in rendering and such. In terms of gaming they are pretty close, although the i7 almost always comes out slightly ontop.

X4 955 is a waste of money. If you want to build an AMD box, build an X4 940.

But i7 will always be faster. And more expensive.
