AMD seems to have done its homework when the company set the price for its Phenom processors. The Phenom 9600 is about 13.5% slower than Intel's Q6600 in our benchmarks. On the other hand, its price is also 13.6% lower than that of its direct competitor. Thus, the two products offer practically the same performance for your money.

There you go...that sums it up

Phenom

- True Quad-core Desktop Processor
- 2.3Ghz clock speed
- 2mb L2 cache
- 2mb L3 cache
- DDR2-1066 support
- 65nm process technology
- Integrated Memory Controller
- Fast Hypertransport 3.0 technology
- Cool & Quiet v2.0

considering penryns have 12mb cache.. Phenom has 2mb L2 it must really utilize the L3 cache

AMD Phenom Quad Core 9600+ (Socket AM2) - Retail

c2q needs more cache because it doesn't have its memory controller on the chip like AMD does.

And has anyone seen how far a Phenom overclocks yet?

if u check his arguing style... (just check any AMD vs Intel thread) and Him vs Apok and N-Dogg is the large percent of the thread..
