If you can afford the 8800GT go for it...otherwise I guarantee you won't be disappointed with the 3870XT. Both are amazing cards and can play everything max details (barring Crapsis).

Also is your Opty overclocked? Because that will definitely bottleneck the 3d card...but it will still be a massive upgrade.

I got the card in my hot little hands now. Will be upgrading tomorrow.

Crazy thing is that I have just noticed that PowerColor has released the PowerColor HD 3850 PCS 512MB AGP

Over all, it's a time to move on and not look back for AGP*.

*with the exception of my Home Server which will be running a little nVidia 6200 128Mb Card.

You won't be disappointed with the performance per price ratio of the HD3xxx cards. Just remember to overclock it some becuase they overclock quite well.
