I'm looking to buy a more expensive graphics card that supports pci-E 2.0

I was wondering if this would work in any pci-E x16 slot or if I have to go out and purchase a new motherboard. Thanks!

So would having PCI-E 2.0 improve the performance over regular PCI-E? I've heard from a lot of people that currently it doesn't make a difference.

It doesn't make a difference now, because they don't take full advantage of it yet.

So in reality there are no PCI-E 2.0 cards. Just PCI-E x16 cards that work with PCI-E 2.0.

The new graphic cards are PCIe 2.0 compliant, such as the GeForce 9 series and HD 3K series.

Right but aren't all PCI-e cards PCI-e 2.0 compliant? PCI-e x16 cards just CAN'T take advantage of what 2.0 offers but considering even the new 2.0 cards don't either it really doesn't matter. So really they're just trying to wow people with names and numbers again -_-.
