PC advice, building new computer

I currently have:

intel p4 2.8 northwood
asrock p4vm800
ati 9800 pro
1gb corsair twinX ddr400
samsung 250GB SATA

I am upgrading to a whole new gaming pc. this is my last upgrade for a while, after this im saving for a car so it has to last.

i cant really decide on my cpu or video card, im sort of on a budget of about $600-800 AU, although might be able to spend a little more. the parts i require are motherboard, video card and CPU, im keeping my old ram and getting an antec superlanboy + truepower, and already hav 250GB sataII

I have been looking around and taken interest in Athlon64 3700+ San diego and the Athlon64 X2 3800+ manchester. video card i like the 7600GT but would prefer a 7900GT.

Any advice would be appreciated.
