This is probably a stupid question...

but i´ve seen some online stores selling pc 8500 cheaper than pc 8000. specificly Crucial Ballistix.

Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Original price:

Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) --> $316.99
Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) --> $214.99

Same thing happening on ebay.

so why is the pc 8500 cheaper than the pc 8000...

i want 4gb for a MSI P6N SLI Platinum wich one of those do you recommend

That's a good question...

Naturally I would assume the PC2 8500 is better simply because it has faster clocks. Those two pairs of RAM are identical except for the difference between PC2 8000 and PC2 8500.

Heh, weird.

dont waste ur money. all u need is pc6400. ddr800 is fast enough for any cpu. i recommend getting gskill hz ddr800
