partioned hard drive - 2 OS

OK. If I have a hard drive, partition it into two. Then I install XP on one partition, and install Vista on the other. After I know that all my software and hardware I want are working on my Vista; may I delete the XP partition?

Yes, you can do that, but make sure you keep all you installation files onto the Vista partition.

why would you want to vista hasnt got all the drivers out yet id keep xp until you get the firsta vista service pack

that's what I was thinking. After everything is ok with vista (that means atlease SP1). When you say all the instsall files on vista, what exactlly do you mean by that? I never really screwed around with partitioning before much. simple one for my MP'3, that's about it.
