what is better to do?

I want to upgrade my pc.
I have Dell Dimension 8250, which have:
pentium4 2.4GHz, 2x256MB RDRAM, some mobo, GF 4 MX 420.
My suggestion was to leave p4 and buy some good mobo (better than previous), buy new ram, about 1gb or more (1gb for start is ok), gooood video card and good PSU cause I want to OC it.

but I have chance to have DFI LP nF4 SLI-DR for free!!!
So maybe I sell that p4, memory and even mobo if it "sellable":p and PSU(don't ask).
then buy new ones. I think I have about $450-600.
but things for that new mobo I could have for free are more expencive.
Help me what to do

it's really my brother's pc and he always play online new games. Nothing more. You know, he uses pc for gaming, some aim, write some homework, that's all.

if you're playing online multiplayer games, (I'm assuming you don't mean like Yahoo Pool or somethin) then AMD is your best bet, and you already know that you'll have to change all the other stuff too...

and if you're going to OC, Opteron would be the best bet processor (so I just recently found out :) )

dells are proprietary and uses special mbs made by them. I have never seen another board that would fit in a dell case. but the good news is he is getting everything else and cased can be cheap.
