I had some problems with the system crashing.

So I tightened connections, un-attatched/re-attatched my heatsink on my CPU. Now it doesnt crash, but the CPU is running at 1.6ghz and 75 degrees C. I used the A.I. NOS crap on the P5B-E board to run the CPU in auto mode(increases/decreases clock speed in real time, depending on the amount of load it's currwently under), and set it to run the heatsink fan in performance mode(running full hard at al times).

E6600 Conroe and ASUS P5B-E mobo

Also it used to be fine. the CPU would be running between 40-50. maxed out around 46 degrees C while under HEAVY load(WoW, AIM, Media Player Classic, IE windows, etc).

what happened was when you pulled the heatsink off of the cpu it screwed up the thermal paste. What you need to do EVERY time you remove the heatsinl is: use a rubbing alchol to remove the original paste. apply the right amount of new paste and then reseat the cooler
