Looking to get a quad to overclock, let's say that the prices are the same, which would be better overclocker and better for gaming? I haven't really payed attention to Intel's new wolfdale chips since I was out of the country when they came out. My instincts tell me the q9400 would be better since it's newer 45nm technology, but I hear that the Q6600 still holds the crown, help me tech forums ;)

new batches of q6600s dont OC well... they require alot of voltage to get to the same clocks, or might not even make it at all... the q9400, however will OC quite well, and is faster clock for clock than the q6600... personally, i would get the 9400 because it'll run cooler, faster and will last alot longer than the 6600

From what I heard the EVGA 680i does not support Yorkfield, correct me if I'm wrong

If that is true, then you should look at Q6600

thats correct, they support wolfdales but not yorkfields, you would need a 7 series chipset for that, or p35+
