so can you tell me how well this will run and if I will be able to OC pretty well on it or not :)

thanks :D

PS- 6800 will hold me strong till the g80 comes out so I got that..

Well, I recommend getting an opteron 165 instead, they oc just the same (mine is at 2.85ghz with air cooling), and then with the money you save, get a 150gb raptor instead of a 74gb.

Dont buy the expert DFI, they are known to destroy some cpus occasionally. Use that money and the money saved by getting the 165 to get a 7800GT or like 003 said, bigger raptor. You might want to get a better HSF for higher overclocks.

well 003 do you think I could acheive 2.85 GHz with a opty 165 with the stuff I have, also what thermal paste did you use?....the reason I went for the opty 170 is becuase I thought it would OC easier..My goal is 2.8 but Il be **** happy with 2.6 if I can get it that high..

but yeah...hmmm....

If you really want to get a good chance of getting to 2.8GHz, or around there, you should look for specific stepping/week CPU's at places like ebay. You would be happy with CCB1E or CCBWE steppings and 0550VMPW or 0550 UMPW weeks.

Use Arctic silver 5 for the thermal paste. Its like $5 at newegg.

CCB1E is part of the stepping. Here is an example of a stepping (in the red rectangle):
