Default Overclocking

Hey, I am 100% new to overclocking. I have been a computer tech for years, but have never dove into overclocking.

I currently have an amd 3700+ socket 939 in my system. The motherboard is an MSI Neo4-F.

How much could I safely overclock this with stock cooling, and how do I do it?

It depends on the CPU - some will go higher than others. Keep moving it up slowly and use Prime95 to max it out. Check the tempature and try to keep it below 60 C.

I'd say, with the right knowledge of what to tweak and a good mobo, you can get to FX55 speeds easily (2.6GHz), maybe close to FX57 (2.8GHz) speeds if you are upgrade your heatsink. You might have a dud overclocker, so nothing is guaranteed.
