Over time or all at once?

I'm thinking of building a new computer in spring or summer and was thinking that since there are some sales at new egg and what not that maybe I should buy some parts now.

Besides a case what else could I buy that would stay "in date" so to speak?

I was thinking of maybe a hard drive but couldn't think of anything else.

case, hard drive, cd drives and psu are the only things I would get now as the technology does not change rapidly with corresponding price drops.
