Default OS question

Hey guys. When I end up building my new rig I am going to need a new OS. I will be using the computer for gaming only and I was wondering if somebody could recommend an OS that would be good. I plan on using 2gb RAM, not 4gb. Suggestions?

I don't see the need in a 64bit OS and especially XP 64 bit, i'm currently running XP Home 32-bit which is fine but vista is worth looking into. This is totally my opinion but for me XP is the way to go

Would this suffice?

Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows XP Home Upgrade with SP2 - Operating Systems

Or would I need this?

Upgrade versions are cheaper but you can't install from booting your PC from that unless you have an older copy of XP (it'll ask you during an installation for an older Installation media)

Normal version (the second you have) will work fine if you boot from it
