no I think they lack a little in gaming.
why exactly would that be? given that the Athlon is a stripped down version of the Opteron not the otherway arround. the only key distinguishing difference in terms of architecture that an s939 Opteron has compared to an Athlon is not something it lacks but rather something extra it has. it has 3 HT links versus the one of the Athlon. well actually i'm not entirely sure on that fact, i know that that was the key difference between the s940 Opteron and the Athlon (aside from ECC memory and the socket), but am not entirely sure if it carried through to the s939 Opteron.

If a dual core opty screws with gaming, how come an X2 doesnt? But too bad it doesnt screw with gaming, Opty > Athlon :classic:
