I would get the 170 just for the multiplier... That will help out alot...
I bought my 3200+ over a 3000+ for that exact reason and I regret it every day...I could have easily pocketed a few extra dollars and probably achieved close to the same results from the 3000+ but I wanted the 10x multi at the time, but looking back it isn't really very important

Oh well, I ordered a 170, but this will be my last computer purchase for quite a while...I think I'm going to use the 3200+ in a webserver but I'm not sure, I really don't want to spend any more money on parts since I have spent far too much this year alone

now im thinking of getting the opteron 165 lol. well

What stepping or do you not know yet?

i dont know, cause i dont have my cpu in front of me

maybe upgrade my video card and ram and i will be done for until 2007 :( unless i raise some money up

Got it;

CCBWE 0541

Now to wait for UPS man to bring my power supply

EDIT: Speak of the devil. Delivered. :)

darn it, i got a CCBWE 0541 RPMW too, maybe i should just return it lol and buy a 0534 off of ebay, let me see what this can do

o wow it wont even do 2.2Ghz on stock voltages...not even with 3.3% off of 1.4V

agreed, shoulda just bought the 3000+ and saved $50...I wasn't even worried about the multiplier because I was figuring I'd want the HTT rather high anyway and it'd probably wind up needing to be 9......buuut nooooo I figured the 3200+ would have that extra 200MHz so I thought it might go up pretty high.

HOWEVER, YOU cant complain since your venice works nicely.

GIVE IT TO ME DAMNIT! You're gonna have a fancy opteron! You dont need that 'crappy' venice!

As far as removing heatsinks go, watercooling is nice there....I twist a couple screws and can pull the block off with no probs...real easy to remove and change out a processor
