Hey im a complete newbie when it comes to sourcing parts and building a computer from scratch, after an hour of scrounging the web for parts I have completed a list. It would be greatly appreciated if some computer savvy people could provide me with opinions/suggestions and make me aware of any hardware/software compatibility issues. I will only really be using the computer for playing CS:S (40-50 fps+), Photoshop, AutoCAD, General web browsing and ofcourse background music.

Here are the components:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 - 3.2 GHz, 6 MB L3 Cache, AM3 socket..........£111.99
MoBo: ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 790GX HT3..........£78.19
Memory: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel..........£89.29
GFX: XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-E..........£199.74
PSU: Antec TruePower New TP-650 Power supply - 650 Watt..........£72.89
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA-II 32MB Cache..........£49.98
Case: Xigmatek UTGARD gaming case..........£62.15
Cooling: Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler..........£24.87
Optical Drive: LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter..........£14.99
Network Card: Edimax EW-7727In nMax 300Mbps Wireless PCI.........£19.99
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit..........£82.33
Monitor: 22" Acer P225HQbd Black Full HD 1080P TFT..........£112.20
Mouse: Logitech G500 Gaming Mouse Laser 5700dpi..........£36.40
Keyboard: Razer Arctosa USB Gaming Keyboard..........£32.84

Total Price: £987.85 Inc. VAT

Well, is this a decent rig for what I would need it for? Are all these parts compatible? Are there better components out there? (My budget cannot stretch much further)
All opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated :D

Thanks,

Alex.

all looks good.
hopefully your motherboard won't come with an old bios version, might need to be updated if your CPU is rev. C3

Edit:
I don't know if you are paying a premium over other HD 5850's for the XFX brand, but just letting you know.

XFX only offers 2 years warranty in the UK, not lifetime like in North America. (Asus offers 3 years.) may not matter to you, but just throwing it out there.
