Hi,

I am right about at the price that i want to be (about $1200) and would appreciate any suggestions on my proposed build. The O/S is Windows 7 64 bit.

What's your budget?
Everything seems nice to me, but I would buy the WD Caviar Black.

just get 2x2gb set of memory - P55 chipset does not support tri-channel
unless you just like the name of Earthwatts, get either the Corsair 650TX (no modular cables) or the Antec TP New (don't know how you feel about LEDs)

Haven't noticed about the RAM. Yes, get a 2x2Gb set of memory.
And yes, a 650W PSU should be plenty.

This may be ignorant - but when i searched for the WD caviar black on newegg - it lists it as "Bare Drive" - what exactly does that mean?

And a ? about the PSU suggestions - i am hoping in a year to upgrade the video card - will 650 be pushing it as far as future needs?

(someone asked - i am trying to keep it around $1200)

thanks,

You've probably considered this, but you can get a decent case for much cheaper.

Newegg.com - APEVIA X-DREAMER3-BK Black Metal ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases for example.

thanks,
what sort of upgrade are you thinking about??
if you are just going to add another 5850, you should be fine

It looks like a great build to me, though I would personally get a different case, and a samsung spinpoint f3 HDD.
Also Dual Channel kit of RAM instead of triple channel for your i5 750/1156 build.

bare drive means it comes in OEM packaging, not in a box with cables etc, usually just a anti static bag with a quick install guide, basically all hard drives come like this.

A quick question. I like the case that you recommended but I've read that the 5850 is rather large - how can i make sure that everything will fit in it.
