Old Gamer building a new rig

SLI is a waste of money. A single card runs better, and by the time the single card needs help, the next gen is already on the market.

SLI was fixed with the 9 series from what we seen so far. Two 9600gt's in sli beat an 8800gtx, and the second card gives over a 90% performance increase.

Two 9600gt's are cheaper that a single 8800gtx, and use less power.

Thanks for the input, but it doesnt really answer my question. The Gigabyte board specs are memory standard=ddr2 1600. Isnt it made to run 1600 instead of DDR2 800? if I run DDR2 800 wouldnt that slow the fsb down from 1333Mhz? to what? If I can run 800 and its just as good I could save the money on ram and get a board that will run SLI down the road if its fixed with the 9 series, cause thats what Im goin for here, to get a good build here to upgrade as time goes on.

Ok, I have a revised list after thinking about it and reading more. Want to say thanks for all your input.

running XP pro sp2. Only question I have is will the freezer pro still work, its a LGA 775 socket, but doesnt list the Q6600 in the compatable list, it lists these
Celeron, Pentium 4, Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, and the Core 2 Extreme Quad. Will it work?

good idea, we should work on this over PM, and you should make the thread, and you'll get a sticky (just mention that I helped too :D)
