I'm debating whether to buy these 3 items now for $290 or wait for the am3 version. This is the maximum amount of money I'm willing to spend so I need help. If I can't find am3/ddr3 cheaper for the same performance any time soon then I will simply buy am2+/ddr2. Any suggestions?

Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X4 920 2.8GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops
Newegg.com - ASRock A780GXE/128M AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards
Newegg.com - OCZ Fatal1ty Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Now is not a good time to get AM3 and DDR3. It isn't running well and they have to work all the bugs out. Those parts look good, but that ram doesn't have the greatest timings. Do you really need 1066 ram? It's only necessary if you are going for high overclocks.

that ram has a deal for $40 mail in rebate, making them only $19.99 so I figured why not

Ok you've convinced me, lol, I'm finding different ram... 9 weeks is way too long to expect my money back. Especially since I'll be moved out in 5.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly confident ddr3 is not supported on my am2+ mobo.

Also this motherboard doesn't support past 1066
