Default an ok gaming pc?

how much will it cost to make a ok gaming pc im looking to spend less than 300 but i will need motherboard, cpu (which im clueless of which i should get) graphics card and case (with psu).

also will some of the cheaper core 2 duo processors be good for gaming (aroung 50)

You need an operating system too? Do you have a keyboard/mouse/cd-dvd

Also need RAM too.
